Like a sponge, I have soaked up as much as I possibly can from more experienced artists in my chosen disciplines through any avenue that I have access to. Learning from the best of the best is a truly humbling and rewarding mentorship experience that reminds me that none of us can achieve success all on our own.

Featured below are some of what I believe are my best projects and in-class assignments from lessons, courses, and workshops over several years of my academic career.

BARGUE COPIES

The Charles Bargue course, designed and put together by French painter of the same name, is an indispensable tool that ateliers around the world utilize in order to train students—typically in the first year of study—to see accurately. Copying a set of monochromatic lithographic plates arranged in increasing difficulty and complexity, students can focus on form and value way before they even start handling color. As the course has been so vital in training my draftsmanship, I’ve incorporated it as a regular routine in my personal studio practice!
