When a painter chooses a subject to paint, it’s because there is something they see there that they find irresistibly beautiful. If someone asks me why I chose this or that subject or reference, the answer is usually going to always boil down to the same: because I like it! I love it! It’s beautiful to me.

The Soul That Thirsts for Beauty
The soul cannot survive or live in this world without beauty, it is a natural instinct. Artists and craftsmen have their calling to supply that need for many, to translate the ordinary into the extraordinary. Or more truthfully, to point others to the reality of the extraordinary that already exists in the seemingly ordinary, that we are often not privy to because of the noise of modernization drowning it all out and dulling our senses.
